For people who've been doing businesses on the internet for any period of time, autoresponders are something they're very familiar with. That's because autoresponders are such big time savers and allow web entrepreneurs to get maximum leverage on the time they put into their business.
How does that work?
It's easy. An autoresponder is simply a software mechanism that mails, automatically, emails to whatever 'list' you input into it. Into the computer you put email addresses and other identifying data, and the email documents you want them to receive, the autoresponder programs combines them and mails them out according to the schedule specify.
Once you get it set up, it's very simple. But what's especially great about autoresponders is that theyr'e not expensive and they're relatively trouble free.
The only thing, if there is something at all, that's critically sensitive about using autoresponders is that you need to be sure that what you put into it, to be sent out to your list, is exactly what you want. You need to be sure that you're putting your very best, most effective, marketing 'foot' forward.
Depending on the size of your distribution list, most likely a lot of people will see what you send out. Most of those people are probably just as busy as you are so you want to be sure that whatever it is you're giving them, that it's something that'll be effective in getting them to buy . Or get them closer to buying. Don't waste the opportunity when you have their attention.
There's a fine balance in the relationship between vendor or seller (i.e. you) and the people on your list. In some cases it might be a list of people who've bought from you previously. In which case you can be a little more informal, aggressive and assumptive.
In many cases however, the people recieving your emails will be people you're still trying to turn into custoemrs. With them, you need to be a little more delicate, careful and patient. You don't want to be too pushy or waste their time. Especially until they get to feel they know, like and trust you. The more they know, like and trust you......they more aggressive you can be.
But just like in any other human to human relationship, it takes time to build trust, doesn't it? That's where autoresponders come in so handy. Set'em up, program them and......you're off the the races while the autoresponder acts as the surrogate you. In most cases, the recipients think that email was directly from you to them.
But most business people face two major problems in using autoresponders:
What do I mean?
I mean that if you're like most business people, time is something you don't have a lot of, right?
And secondly, while there's a lot that you do know about your business and your industry.......writing is probably something that you either don't enjoy doing or don't feel you do very well. Most businesspeople don't consider writing their specialty.
Or public speaking either.....but that's a different post.
That's where professional writers, also known as 'copywriters', come into the picture. Copywriters get paid to write for you. Sure, it costs money but.....it's worth it if it produces results, isn't it?
There are many different specialties within the larger field known as 'writing'. Writing autoresponder messages, also know as 'autoresponder copy' or 'autoresponder series', is one of them.
Typically an autoresponder series has the intention of selling a particular product, service or idea. Sometimes however autoresponder series are strictly designed to build the image or brand of the writer, company or source of the post or article.
If you haven't figured it out yet, that's what I do. I write autoresponder series and do regular blog posting for my clients. I've been writing and blogging for serveral years, I enjoy it and I'm good at it. Presently I live and work as an English teacher in S.Korea where I have lots of free time to work on projects for my internet clients. Most of whom are back in the US (but not all of them are).
All blog content is seen by Google and, if it's written with the right keywords, it eventually shows up in Google rankings. How long that takes depends basically on how competitive your keywords are although there are some little tricks that good writers (and I'd like to think that I'm one of them) use to get maximum Google ranking as quickly as possible and beat at least some of your competition (assuming you have 'competition', right?).
If you're 'on the web' or wanting to learn more about using the power of autoresponders in your existing business, I'd highly recommend doing the best writing you can or having it done professionally. It doesnt' cost......it pays. If you have any questions about doing that, don't hesitate to give me a call or Skype ("wanderingsalsero").
