I discovered a nice blog just now. It's called "Here Is Havana".
I haven't been through it all. But enough to know that I like it. I've heard that more and more foreigners are relocating to Cuba (temporary or otherwise) and I must admit the idea sounds interesting to me too. I just don't have enough info yet.
More than anything else, the one thing that might keep me from going there would be the poor quality of the internet service. Not that I've specifically heard that it's bad. I just assume it probably is......in most places.
But I just read something in one of the author's articles.....about why she blogs. It very accurately describes me too:
Geez! I feel like I've been trapped in another dimension for the last several weeks! I lost track of my ID and password and couldn't get into the blog here......
But I'm back now.
I'll tell ya one thing. None of this woulda happened if I hadn't had that original problem with someone stealing my primary gmail email address seveal weeks ago. Man! That created a lot of problems.
Well, I know one thing. Life is certainly 'dynamic'. It's always changing. One door closes and another door opens. I've always said there's a lot of opportunity 'out there'. You just gotta know where it is.
Sometimes I think it almost doesn't make sense to plan too far ahead, in today's world, because everything is changing so fast. Not only did I suddenly find out last week that my present school was going to let me extend my contract for a few weeks so I could participate in our Winter English Camp....but I even just today discovered that I might have a chance at teaching in exotic Malaysia...near Kuala Lumpur.
How 'bout them apples?
Yes.....according to a friend of mine and some research of my own, there's some serious English teaching going on in that neck of the woods. Wow! If there's anyplace perhaps more intriguing than Thailand.....it would have to be Malaysia. That's real 'story book' SE Asia.
From what I hear there's a rapidly growing economy down there and lots of people doing their best to learn English. A friend of mine is going there soon and he suggested I apply.
I think I will. I hear that their capital city, Kuala Lumpur, has one of the tallest buildings in the world. Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
And I know for a fact that there is some serious salsa dancing going on in Kuala Lumpur.
So here's a video a made with Animoto. I think Animoto is so uber-cool.
