I seriously doubt than any of my beloved readers are old enough to remember the serialized adventure series that people used to be able to see at the Satureay matinees at movie theaters and/or on the early days of Saturday morning TV. But I remember.
I remember mostly Flash Gordon which starred Buster Crabb as 'Flash'. It was a really good series. But there were others.
There were several western characters of course but especially good was Hoppalong Cassidy. On the 'sci-fi' side of things you also had Captain Cody. He was good.
Well, I found a blog yesterday from some gal named "Bibi" who seems to reside in Brazil somewhere. This is it: http://www.bibi.vlog.br/
If you click through you'll find a lot of these old serial flicks. They're really cool. But in addition to that type of film, you'll also find some links to other films all of which apparently come from some sort of public access archive. I forget the name of it. I'd seen it mentioned before.
But this is entertainment that shouldn't be lost or forgotten and apparently it's still available.
Here's a link to one particular episode in the science fiction serious called "Crash(Buzz)Corrigan". I looked at a few of them last night from a PC bang near where I live but for some reason I can't get it to buffer quickly here at school. I think you'll like it though. It's the kind of thing that's nice to have around for real basic entertainment.
