Another excellent comment about Obama from Newsmax

Did you know that Newsmax has more readers now than Drudge Report?  I was surprised to read that a couple of weeks ago.  But that's what it said. 

Anyway, for sure Newsmax has very interesting news and a pleasing way of presenting it.  I get something interesting from Newsmax almost every day.  Here's another great article.

This one is by a Jewish rabi and in it he writes about Obama......yeah, that guy.  Of course, it's no secret that I don't like Obama and also that, as a Christian, I have a special regard for Jews.  But even notwithstanding that, this is an interesting article because it clearly illustrates why it's very important to know your history.

What this writer,, points out is that Obama clearly either doesn't know much or (the more likely) choses to ignore it for his own self serving and nefarious purposes.  The article starts like this:

Our new president did not tell a virulent anti-Semite to travel to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington to kill Jews, but he is most certainly creating a climate of hate against us.

It is no coincidence that we are witnessing this level of hatred toward Jews as President Barack Obama positions America against the Jewish state.

Just days ago Obama traveled to Cairo, Egypt. It was his second trip in a short time to visit Muslim countries. He sent a clear message by not visiting Israel.

But this was code.

In Cairo, Obama said things that pose a grave danger to Jews in Israel, in America and everywhere.

From a Christian perspective, I see......

I'm looking at this news article about Obama (is-he-or-isn't-he-a-youknowwhat) going to Saudia Arabia and consulting with 'His Majesty'.  The article doesn't specifically say it but Obama's actions since he's been in office leave no doubt that he's pretty much abandoning Israel and making a big deal about kissing up to the Arabs.

I haven't really been much into it recent years but I remember back when I was 'born again', I learned a lot about end-times prophecy.  And I know what the world scene looks like just prior to that time.

Israel will be virtually isolated from the rest of the world.  Yet they will still be prospering.  And the rest of the world will still be trying to blame all their problems on 'the Jews'.

Yeah.  Pretty stupid, I know.......but that's the way it is.  It's virtually that way now as anybody can see.

The point is.....the clock is running.  We are headed for the end of this era of mankind.  I have greatg difficulty seeing it's not plainly obvious to anybody looking at what's right in front of everybody's eyes and comparing it to what the Bible says.

For the President of the United States of America, the greatest Christian country ever on the face of the Earth, to be kissing ass with the King of Saudia Arabia, the earthly (did you catch that......"earthly" :-) really boogles my mind.

You know, regarding the idea of 'our time being over', the Bible talks about 'ages' and 'the time of the gentiles'.  I recall learning that when the Jews rejected Jesus, the Lord basically said, 'OK, well.....I'll take my message to the Gentiles.....for now.  I'll get back to you Jews later.'

I think that's why the wealth and focus of the earth shifted from the Far East and Middle East and to the 'New World' after that.  And it's been that way up until basically this century when the Middle East began to wake up again.

Even with that new awakening though, it wouldn't have been relevent or significant without the fact that the West began to lose it's Christian and moral foundations.  Opportunities are never lost but rather just picked up by somebody else.

So.......I really see things changing a lot.  I know there are a lot of people in America who see this same thing as I do and I'm confident that the Lord will continue to bless us, and all those who bless Him.  It's just sorta awesome to see humanity basically 'turning on a dime' like this....something so big and yet in many ways so subtle.

If you have comments, don't hesitate to make them.  I'll post them.  But don't think you're going to shake my believe.  I read the Book and I know what happens already.  You don't have to be a Weatherman to know which way the wind blows.

History repeats itself?

Yeah, I think it does. 

Why?

Because (as I've often said).....people don't change.  They keep doing the same things over and over.  The younger generation very seldom learns from the mistakes of the previous generation.  They go through the same cyles of birth, growth, thinking they're indestructible and going to live forever, and eventually blaming their mistakes on somebody else.

So that's why I find this article, here, which I picked up from a publication I just discovered called The Trumpet, very believable.

I've always like history and I know more, probably, than the average person about the events leading up to WWII.  I know some of the problems that made it so easy for Hitler and Mussolini to come to power in their respective countries.  And I see a lot of those same things happening today.

I didn't know much about what was going on in Italy currently though and that's what's so interesting about this article.  You might think I'm crazy but.....that's OK.

Regarding The Trumpet, it was interesting to see it because apparently it was started by a guy named Herbert Armstrong.  I was very surprised to see that (on the ad that got my initial attention) because it brough back my memories of listening to him on the radio many years ago back when I was a teenager. 

Mr. Armstrong used to have a radio program in which I talked about Bible prophecy.  That was before I was a born-again Christian but I nevertheless was raised in a family that sometimes would drag me to an Episcopal church.  So I sorta knew the dogma.  Plus, as I say, I had an interst in history.

I always found his program very fascinating.  Later I kinda moved on to other concerns in life and lost touch with Mr. Armstrong. He's probably dead now but the subject of end-times prophecy still interests me.

I'd heard the name 'Bizarro' before but I never really knew what or who it was.  Apparently it's a cartoon stip.

Many years ago I worked with a guy named Mike Murphy.  At the time, he was pretty high up in the ranks of an organization called A.L. Williams....now known as Primerica.  He told me a story about Chuck Norris that I always remembered.

Mike said he was on an airplane going somewhere once and he met Chuck Norris.  They got into a conversation and Mike mentioned to Chuck that he enjoyed his movies but 'weren't some of them a little cheesy?'

Chuck said yeah, they were, but they paid the bills.

That simply illustrated that Chuck was a working man just like everybody else.

Since that time, I don't know if you've seen any of the ads or not, but Chuck Norris has emerged as a soci0-political figure somewhat along the lines of Charlton Heston although to a much lesser degree.  He's done some 'drill here-drill now' ads, some anti Nancy Pelosi ads, and things like that.

He also writes columns in  an e-magazine called Human Events.  That's the same publication that Ann Coulter and Pat Buchanan write in.  Today I found this very heartwarming story about a brief encounter Chuck and his family had with a homeless person.  It sorta goes to show that Chuck isn't always kicking bad guys' asses but so he also has a kinder, more humanitarian side.

Randy finally graduated

Randy Pausch, well known lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University, recently died of pancreatic cancer.  But he was the kind of fellow who handled death very well....like any of us should. 

I'm a Christian myself and to me death isn't a bad thing.  I've never understood why people get so sad about it.  In comparison to the reality of the afterlife this time we spend here is just a micro second.  A blip on the radar of time.  This isn't really where we belong.  We're just one drop of water out of billions of drops heading down the river of life into the ocean of eternity.  Nobody gets to crawl up and bask on shore.  No time-outs in the game.  Everybody moves at the same pace.  It's a slow express train to Heaven or Hell for all of us.

So I look at death as more of a 'graduation' than a 'termination'.  That's why I said that Randy 'graduated'.  Myself, I'm looking forward to 'post-graduate' life.  I'd much rather be a butterfly than a catapillar

I  thought of these things today when I saw this article about Randy Pausch today.  I'd never heard of him and actually I thought he was somebody else.  You may remember that I did a post a year or two ago about another university professor whose lectures were very theatrical and very popular.  I thought it was him.

It wasn't.  It was Randy Pausch.

In reading a little bit about him I picked up one line I thought was very true:

"We don't beat the reaper by living longer, we beat the reaper by living well and living fully," he said.

Now...if I may segue into a more practical application of Randy's philosophy....

A year goes by really quick and this slightly-over-a-year now that I've had here in S.Korea, teaching conversational English in a public high school has been generally rewarding and exciting.  I'd highly encourage anybody who wants to do something truly unique to give it a try themselves.

Where else could you get paid for doing a job that, although it can be frustrating at time, certainly it isn't 'hard' in any traditional definition of the word.  And you get lots of time off, a couple of big vacations and lots of smaller ones, a chance to see a part of the world that's truly unique and most people will only read about.  And, if you salsa, the salsa scene is good.

I'm in a 6 months contract right now (which is another story) and I've got another 4+ months to go.  I've got several contingencies for what I'll be doing next but one way or the other you can bet I'll be looking for the best adventure I can get.  You should do the same at all times.
